This is a component program of the CCF-I under which NCJD aims to provide assistance and seeks association of NGOs to promote jute
diversification by way of setting up training-cum-production units in different parts of the country. Main objective of the program is:
- Promotion of diversified jute products
- Generate value addition to the product line
- Create consumer awareness and market for JDP
- Creating employment & income generation opportunity
The products targeted for this sector are:
- Handicraft
- Bags, luggage and accessories
- Loom based products
NCJD's assistance is by way of matching grant with an upper limit of Rupees two lakhs. The said assistance will have to be utilised on Plant and Machinery, Raw material
accessories required for training, Honorarium or TA/DA to trainees and trainers and some component of market promotion.Additionally, NCJD also proposes awareness programs and project monitoring for all the units supported
under the scheme. For selection of NGOs, NCJD has set up a guideline laying down the eligibility criteria. The proposals are placed before a designated committee that selects the NGOs that are to be funded. The selected NGOs are
provided assistance in formulating modalities of operation and other escort services along with the disbursement of fund in desired instalments. During the year NCJD has targeted to assist atleast 100 such NGOs through this
scheme and conduct atleast 20 workshops so as to benefit a minimum of 3000 individual beneficiaries. |
