In lines with the commitments of the Centre for the 10th Plan Period, NCJD shall continue with its endeavour to widen production bases especially in the non-jute growing areas, create market bases and opportunities for sale of JDPs in India and abroad. NCJD will also continue its effort to enhance product quality and explore newer areas for application of jute aimed at development of new product creation. NCJD will continue to bring jute-diversified products including those manufactured by small and tiny units and women groups in the rural areas to the fore. NCJD will continue with renewed vigour its ongoing schemes and operate such other schemes as will be directed by the Administrative Ministry to attain the objective that Centre has set for itself. In order to attain this, while NCJD shall continue with the approved ongoing schemes as enumerated further below the centre has formulated certain activity areas which has been felt imperative in creating the background platform for augmenting the schemes and to draw the desired resources. The activities include TRA interaction activities, Technology need feedback mechanism and Technology generation, Identification of and Exploring untapped market for JDP, Resource persons inventory and allocation of appropriate resources, involvement of specialised institution in promotion of JDP and putting into force Strategic Business Generation Plan as desired for approval of the Ministry. Under its ongoing activities NCJD shall continue to create new activity bases and extend all such services to entrepreneurs, NGOs, SHGs and small sector units through the operation of all the ongoing schemes as approved by the govt. viz. |

Upon fulfilment of target for JSC in the first year itself and identification of felt need areas for JRMBs, Ministry has approved opening up of 2 more of JSCs and JRMBs each for the Plan Period. As in the previous year NCJD proposes to enhance the target as proposed in last years action plan in order to keep parity with the goal it has set for itself. Similarly considering the demand of entrepreneurs to participate in NCJD fairs in spite of introduction of participation fees and demand from consumers to organise fairs in respective locations spread across different parts of the country. NCJD proposes to organise / participate in 40 such events within the country and three such abroad. As targeted in the previous plan period NCJD will fulfil the same of opening six sales outlets within this year and proposes to open four more by next year. Tie-ups and promotional campaigning shall be the other new activities that will be taken up during the year. NCJD proposes to create a branding of the image and popularity that it has gained in the minds of the beneficiaries and consumers. The trademark 'Ecopac' shall also be strategically put to judicious use and shall be aimed at commercialisation and satisfaction of consumers. Long term collaborative arrangements as contemplated and acted up in earlier years will be continued with reputed institution across the country. |

NCJD proposes to lay special thrust on the NE region. For this the Ministry with a financial outlay of Rs.4.50 Crores has approved a special Scheme for the Plan Period. NCJD also plan to introduce loom-based training in existing loom clusters of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Bihar during the current financial year. As in the previous years NCJD had targeted the places of tourist interest and places of pilgrimage. NCJD proposes to continue with those and include distant locations in mountainous regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. |
