D ifferential scales of assistance for different categories of Products

Having regard to the fact that some of the technologies, processes and products recently developed may not have been fully established and might take some more time for their full commercialization and whereas some other products and technologies may already have been established and moving faster in the markets, it is proposed to implement the JEA(CS)S Scheme envisaging assistance for different categories of products as follows

 

Category - A

 

Jute blended yarn of grist count 4 lbs. or below where jute is the predominant fibre as per Multi-Fibre Policy.
 

 

Jute or Jute blended Non-Woven Fabric
 

 

Jute based Composites using Jute Fibre / Powder / Waste / Fabric / Non-Woven. Thrust area will be transportation sector, building & construction, marine / Off-shore application / chemical process equipment / sgriculture & agro food processing, railways, defence etc.
 

 

Any other jute diversified product manufactured by non-traditional / innovative technology as approved by the JEA(CS)S Approval Committee

Assistance is restricted to 15% of the cost of plant & machinery of the above projects in the cottage / small scale / medium / large scale / public sector / private sector body.

 

Category - B

 

Jute or Jute Blended yarn of grist count 10 Lbs. or below where jute is the predominant fibre as per Multi Fibre Policy.
 

 

Jute Geo Textiles
 

 

Jute based composites using Jute Stick particle. Thrust area will be Knock down furniture, false ceiling / partition wall / any other value added applications
 

 

Paper grade Jute Pulp using Jute as major raw material. Thrust area will be Moulded paper products, Quality paper / Decorative paper / Kraft Paper / Boards / Any other value added application
 

 

Jute based Handmade Paper using jute as major raw material
 

 

Processing House for Jute or Jute blended Yarn / fabrics / Non-Woven
 

 

Sizing Plants
 

 

Down Stream products of Jute like Furnishing, Upholstery, Made-ups Bags other than traditional sacks, Soft Luggage, Travel accessories, Handicrafts, Utility articles

Assistance is restricted to 10% of the cost of plant & machinery of the above projects in the cottage / small scale / medium / large scale / public sector / private sector body.

Types of Plant & Machinery eligible for subsidy

 

All items of plant & machinery to be notified by NCJD from time to time.
 

 

Any other items of machinery including stand-alone units, as may be approved by the JEA(CS)S Approval Committee and notified by NCJD for the purpose of this scheme from time to time

Committee

An Empowered Committee JEA(CS)S Approval Committee will look into all aspects of the scheme. The composition of the committee is given below

Following the approval of the scheme as communicated by the Govt. vide Ref. No. 14/13/2001 –Jute Export Govt. of India Ministry of Textiles dated 21st Sug, '02 the notification by NCJD was made on 04.10.2002.
 

 

Projects that have started installation of machinery and / or declared commercial production after the date of notification i.e. 04.10.2002 of the scheme will be eligible for assistance under the JEA(CS) Scheme subject to fulfillment of the terms and conditions of the scheme.
