Exhibition Calendar

Market Support Scheme aims at facilitating small entrepreneurs and NGOs to have exposure to market through participation in exhibitions and stalls at various emporia. Mass-market products are being promoted through the exhibitions and participation in fairs at various locations around the country.

During the 10th Plan Period, the Administrative Ministry has envisaged that NCJD will participate in 3 International level fairs, 5 National level fairs and 5 Buyers-Sellers meet each year. By the end of 2004-05, 8 sales outlets will be in operation. Total budget allocation has been set at Rs.456.50 lakhs. It is proposed that NCJD with its experience and knowledge of products and production bases will also attempt at promoting JDP in the markets abroad.


During 2004-05 NCJD plans

 To build tie up with a marketing organization of state governments and other reputed agencies for procurement of the products manufactured by NCJD beneficiaries for sale through the ready network of these marketing organizations.

 Opening of Sales outlets at least 8 locations, especially in big cities where the awareness about jute has come about.

 Considering the prospects and the potential demand of jute diversified products especially handicraft, decorative items, floor covering and wrapping textile it is contemplated to hold awareness campaign, exhibition, buyers meet, road shows in the countries abroad.

 Introduce a Strategic Business Generation Plan where untapped market zones will be explored. Strategic selling practice will be introduced and consumer awareness [Proposal No. 01/193 dated 19.02.2004 placed for approval of the Ministry]


Expected Physical achievement will be

  Organising / participating in 28 exhibitions across the country

  8 sales outlet in big cities

  Set up collaborative arrangements with at least 4 government emporia

  To attain a sale figure of Rs.1.00 crore by the end of the year through operation of this scheme only

  Village level fairs to be organised by JSCs has been introduced in consideration of the demand by the local artisans and small units like the NGOs and women group.

The Strategic Business Generation Plan being proposed will have a budget provision for Rs.350.00 lakhs, which will be implemented as a separate Scheme on running approval of the Administrative Ministry.
