Projects

The following activities undertaken by SHGs would be encouraged

  1. Production of handloom based diversified products
  2. Production of Jute bags
  3. Handicrafts by using jute fibre or fabrics as one of the major raw material

Funding Pattern

The scope of assistance under MFS will be in the form of interest free loan. Support to SHGs under MFS for production of jute diversified products will be provided up to 25% of the project cost or Rs. 1.00 lakh which ever is less as interest free loan  to SHGs towards margin money or as matching contribution of the SHG equity.

Disbursement of Loans

Interest free loan shall be disbursed in installments depending upon the need of the SHG. Release of the first installment will be after the inspection of the activities undertaken by the SHG as far as possible and fulfilling the credit criteria of the bank. Efforts will be made to provide various inputs in terms of technology, design, training and various backward and forward linkages to SHGs. During the course of the programme, NCJD shall extend necessary handholding assistance and monitor the progress. Also periodical feedback on progress of the project will be sought by NCJD from various SHGs. Subsequent installments shall be released after receipt of the audited Utilisation Certificate along with physical verification and assessment of the progress shown by the respective SHG.

Repayment of Loan

The repayment will start after commencement of commercial production but not latter than one year from the date of disbursement of the loan and the entire loan will be repaid in five equal annual installments without bearing any interest. Delayed repayment shall however attract interest or penalty as may be decided from time to time. Recovery of bank loan, if any, and interest free loan from NCJD would proceed simultaneously, details as worked out by NCJD will be intimated at the time of disbursement. Monitoring

In order to ensure smooth functioning of assisted SHGs in accordance with the guidelines of NCJD and the Work Plan, the assisted SHGs shall be extended required escort services and linkages. The NCJD officials or authorized representatives will also monitor them either. SHGs that will show good track records on performance, effectiveness in management and refund of loan, may be considered for further assistance, aimed at expansion of activities and branching out.

Support services

Apart from providing interest free loan for operating projects for the production of Jute Diversified Products various other support services will be provided to the SHGs for better sustenance through skill upgradation programme, buyer seller meet, participation in various national/international exhibitions and fairs etc.
