As approved by the Council of Governors of NCJD and subsequently by the Ministry this scheme is introduced for assistance to NGOs, women self-help-groups and micro enterprises.

It has further been approved that the same may operate to replace the existing scheme as currently operational under the CCF-I program. The same pattern will be adopted. For SHGs & entrepreneurs the same will be a loan scheme and the disbursed amount will be recovered interest free as per the erstwhile JEAS Scheme. NCJD proposes to involve JSC in a pro active manner, especially in view of the inclusion of JDP under the REGP Scheme of KVIC.

Main objective of the program is

  Promotion of diversified jute products

  Generate value addition to the product line

  Create consumer awareness and market for JDP

  Creating employment & income generation opportunity

The products targeted for this sector are

  Handicraft

  Bags, luggage and accessories

  Loom based products

NCJD's assistance is by way of matching grant with an upper limit of Rupees two lakhs. The said assistance will have to be utilised on plant and Machinery, raw material accessories as will be required for training, honorarium or TA/DA to trainees and trainers and some component of market promotion.
